ORLANDO, FL – The Finnish Parliament and the government passed a law intended to promote the legalization of homeschooling the week of July 19, 2021. Leaders familiar with the situation in Finland said Socialist Democrats have attempted to ban homeschooling for more than a decade, but the Finnish Parliament has defeated that campaign with the new law.

The national Christian homeschool leaders described the legislation as being “very pro-homeschooling,” which means they said paves the road to full legalization. International Association for Creation will continue supporting the national Christian homeschool leaders in Finland by monitoring the situation and providing advice, counsel, and resources as applicable.

This struggle is for the freedom to homeschool as well as a battle for religious freedom. Modern politics and government authorities want to indoctrinate the public, especially children, with their selective messaging. The messaging limits the ability of the individual to exercise critical thinking, take personal responsibility and strive for personal success.
